DormBooks is Hiring!

Since DormBooks is a fully student-run operation,
we hire students at the end of the semester to assist in campus operations.


Buyback Agent ($2-$3-$4 per pickup; averages $11.62/hour)

Buyback agents pick up textbooks from student dorm rooms. Students schedule a pickup online and buyback agents show up at the appropriate time/place and perform the pickup.

Buyback agents choose their own schedules, and their schedules are published online so MSU students can schedule pickups. You can work 3 hours or 300 hours, allowing you to schedule around your exams and study times.

You will receive a flat rate payment for every pickup you perform (you are NOT paid hourly). Agents typically make $10-$15/hour depending on their involvement (telling their friends, sending out dorm emails, changing their facebook status, etc). Last semester, the average agent pay was $11.62/hour.

Also, buyback agents can perform pickups outside their regular work hours. Each and every textbook bought back, either during scheduled hours or your own time, will receive compensation.

Buyback agents are hired to work April 30th - May 4th  (finals week).


Buyback Captain ($10/hour)

Buyback captains are hired to assist buyback agents in the transport of textbooks from campus to the DormBooks warehouse and in distributing DormBooks supplies to agents. Captains need to be available during the evening of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday of finals week. Captains will need access to their own cars.

Captains may also work as buyback agents, however, captain duties will supersede agent duties.
